HI. New to site. I went through the preliminaries, added spybot, ad-aware, window update, ewido, etc. Here is my hijackthis log. Thank you in advance for your help!

Open HijackThis and click Scan. Put a check next to these:

Close all other windows except HijackThis and click Fix Checked. Then reboot.

To make sure you're clean, let's run an online scan.

Please do an online scan with Kaspersky WebScanner

Click on Kaspersky Online Scanner

You will be promted to install an ActiveX component from Kaspersky, Click Yes.

• The program will launch and then begin downloading the latest definition files:
• Once the files have been downloaded click on NEXT
  
• Now click on Scan Settings
• In the scan settings make sure that the following are selected:
  • Scan using the following Anti-Virus database:
  Extended (if available otherwise Standard)
  
  • Scan Options:
  Scan Archives
  Scan Mail Bases
• Click OK
• Now under select a target to scan:Select My Computer
• This program will start and scan your system.
• The scan will take a while so be patient and let it run.
• Once the scan is complete it will display if your system has been infected.
  • Now click on the Save as Text button:
• Save the file to your desktop.
• Copy and paste that information in your next post.

Please post that log along with a new HijackThis log. You have many unnecessary items on startup, would you like to eliminate some of them?

Hi Armodeluxe,
Thank you for getting back to me today. I'm glad to see that I didn't have a virus of some sort. Yes, I would love to get rid of whatever I can to make my computer run more efficiently. It starts up so slow and during transitions in the browser and programs. Please tell me what needs to go. Also, I do know I only use the AIM toolbar and I see many toolbars and such in the list. Ok. I "fixed" some of the files that you listed and kept others that I use. Do you want me to "fix" the ones I disabled from the directions? It wasn't clear to me. I disabled musicmatch but couldn't find the "autorun" registry key- don't even know where to look for it. I don't know how to make a shortcut to HP to manually update software or disable the HP Image Zone Fast Start-couldn't find where to go in HP Image Zone. I'm not that computer savy! But I'm learning!!!
Also, my computer is still not rebooting like it has in the past.

Fix that one in HijackThis. If you find that MusicMatch Jukebox is still able to detect the insertion or removal of a CD, then all is well, otherwise simply restore it from HijackThis backups:

To restore the backups:

• Open HiJackThis
• Click on "View the list of Backups"
• Place a check mark next to the items you want to restore
• Click Restore
• Click Yes
• Reboot your computer
