I need help removing Trojan.Vundo from my computer. I Followed all the steps listed w/ regard to TrojanHunter, Cleanup, etc. I also downloaded the Symantec Trojan.Vundo fix from the Norton website, but it always comes up saying that my system is clean, yet I keep getting notifications saying that I have infected files. C:\Windows\system32\jkhfe.dll. Here is a copy of my HiJackThis Log:

Like greyknight17 said in your previous topic (you never replied to that one..)

Please read this link and follow the steps outlined there. You must install XP SP1a (hold off on SP2 until your computer is clean). Without SP1a, you are wide open to re-infection. When you are ready, post a new HijackThis log here.

I saw that, this will sound retarded, but I couldnt figure out to get back to my posts till just the other day :tazz:. anyhow, I tried to download service pack but was told that I could not as my computer already has it. I did the microsoft online check to review all the downloads made to the computer and it shows that I already have that. Any suggestions on how to get confirm this or go a different route? Thanks in advance

Just tried again this is the message that I get:

" Setup has detected that the Service Pack version of the system installed is newer than the update you are applying to it.

You can only install this update on Service Pack 1"

Let's see what's happening:

Open Notepad.
Copy the text from the box to an empty file.
Save it as ‘ver.bat’ to your desktop.
Choose ‘save as all types *.*’

regedit /e c:\g2gver.txt 
"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Active Setup\Install Check"

Close Notepad.

Find ‘ver.bat’ on your desktop.
Doubleclick the file. It will create a file called ‘g2gver.txt’ on c:\
Copy the entire text and past it to your reply here in this topic.
