I've done quite a few BIOS flashes, and haven't paid anything yet. I've gotten them from either the computer or motherboard maker's site. I'm on an old Dell Optiplex GXa that someone gave me, was walking past their house when they were cleaning out the garage and I asked "do you have any old computers you want to get rid of". And I went to the Dell site and upgraded the BIOS from .01 version to .10.

Is there any specific reason you think you need a BIOS upgrade? When you go to the websites, compare the version of BIOS you have with the latest one. Sometimes an upgrade does a lot, doubles the bus speed, allows for faster processors, provides more options. Sometimes they do very little.

I'd just like to be up to date, is all. My Brother suggested I go to the ASUS website, but I'm having trouble finding the model.

Hi,

I would leave well enough alone, its sometimes nice to have the latest and greatest but I usually don't recommend updating bios unless there is a problem that a update could fix because there are certain risks involved that could render the computer useless.
