I'm a cross between mac and Win XP user.
My computer Spec's
AMD Athalon Xp 3000+
Asus A7v600-X MOBO
80 GB OS hardrive
160 GB Storage Hardrive
ATI Radeon 9600 XT All-In-Wonder 128 MB
PCI Sound Card (audigy 2)
PCI Firewire Card
PCI Wireless Card
Combo CD Rom Drive
500 Watt Powersupply

My question is, is it possible, or can I install Mac OS X panter or som OS around there on this system on a seperate hardrive so i can boot off that hard drive... I want to know if my system is compatible to run Mac OS X on my system or if it is even possible. Email me at [email protected] if you have any suggestions.

Umm, Curious... Why is it illegal if i have the software and I own all the equipment... Lets just say I own all that is required for the install other than the Mac OS (that is why im asking)... But im curious why it is illegal, because my computer is custom built and everything... so every piece is my personal property along with the win XP home edition software.

Well not real sure on the legality..... but I would assume it would be in the end user agreement that you agree to when you buy/install software.... Look here for some info

As far as i have heard you can install the x86 processor version of the mac osx on a pc and it will run fine, i havent heard it being illegal if you have a software liscence, but i didnt rad into it too much as why would you want a mac oz in the first place its nice looking but just a little annoying at times.

Well that would also happen to be the only mac OS that would work on a x86 PC so it wont be a problem of selection

i am almost certain it is NOT illegal. you can easily buy mac os alone (cheaper than windows) and install it on a custom made mac compatable box, or a pc. i know some people have installed other versions of mac os x, but i am pretty sure, mac osx tiger is the only one that is intensionaly made to work on an x86 processor, due to apple now using intel procesors in the future.

it's not illegal - if you OWN both install disks, how can it be?
i've seen this in a corporate print and media company - they have windows on macs and OSX on PC's


i know this is possible, however, i do not personally know how to do it
- more importantly - it is possible on your computer - but you will need at least 256 MB RAM (i didn't see ram on the list you posted)

you may want to hook up with a computer tech guy or something
to actually get the installations done; it's pretty tricky and to know how to boot b/w OS's
