Hi dan1987!

Boot your computer into Safe Mode (Tab F8 about once a second while your computer is booting up until you see the screen giving you the option to boot into Safe Mode). Once there, log in using the Administrator account. Then go and try again to delete the account that is causing you problems.

If the account doesn't show up when you are logged in as the ADMINISTRATOR in safe mode, then the account doesn't truly exist. Are you sure it isn't listed in USER ACCOUNTS in the control panel?

Hmm, doesn't seem possible, because if they are listed on the login screen they will be listed in the USER ACCOUNTS windows. What I suggest you do is go to START-->RUN and type sfc /scannow. You may need your XP cd while doing this. What this does is check your operating system files and replace any that are corrupt/missing. When the blue bar goes away, reboot your computer and post back how things are going.

If you have service pack 2 installed you most likely wont need the cd. Worth trying. If it asks for the Cd then just cancel it. Won't hurt anything if you cancel it.
