Limewire Install

I have recently downloaded Limewire. THe download was fine, and installed fine, but when I go to use the program, my screen goes black, and my desktop appears. This happens everytime I try to use the program. Can someone help me? I do not download music/videos/programs, but I use it as a source of Jpeg images. Please help.. Thanks
