Hey guys.....up until now I've been able to defeat most of the "Baddies" with Ad Aware, Spybot and HiJack This but this new one's got me stumped. I even tried paying for Spyferret but that hasn't worked either. Here's my log. I have the latest version of Spybot and Hijack but for some reason when I try to run the new Ad Aware SE version I get an "explorer" run error box and it won't delete any of the problems it finds....it just gets stuck at that point. I'm running Windows98. I'm getting lots of "Ceres" popups (even when the browser IE is closed). The real problems started when the first three items showed up.....the "search" ones.

Reboot into safe mode and delete:
C:\N20050308.EXE
C:\WINDOWS\OQUWGG.EXE

Reboot again and download L2mfix from one of these two locations:

http://www.atribune....oads/l2mfix.exe
http://www.downloads....org/l2mfix.exe

Save the file to your desktop and double click l2mfix.exe. Click the Install button to extract the files and follow the prompts, then open the newly added l2mfix folder on your desktop. Double click l2mfix.bat and select option #1 for Run Find Log by typing 1 and then pressing enter. This will scan your computer and it may appear nothing is happening, then, after a minute or 2, notepad will open with a log. Copy the contents of that log and paste it into this thread.

IMPORTANT: Do NOT run option #2 OR any other files in the l2mfix folder until you are asked to do so!

Pieter

Pleaase download TDS-3 from http://tds.diamondcs...p?page=download
and update it following the instructions here:
http://tds.diamondcs...php?page=update
Then click System Testing > Full System scan.
Have it remove everything it gives you a positive identification of.

Post back with a new HijackThis log.

Regards,

Pieter
