I’m working on setting up and windows 2000 server as both my active Directory and RIS server. I have Active Directory up and going great. Now I’m work on setting up the RIS server so I can put windows 2000 pro installs over the network. I’m able to get the installs to work and it’s nice to not have to do anything to the client.

But when I go to run windows update, I get all kinds of page errors. And I’m unable to download any installs.

I was able to slipstream SP4 into my install, but I still have the same problem.

Has anyone had this problem?

If I put the CD into a PC and run a manual install the system works.

just for clarity....

if you do the remote installs....then on the client machine..windows update doesn't work whatsoever..

but if you install locally...windows update works like a charm?

there may be something wrong with you os image
