Windows background problem!

I found a fix for this problem. What I need you to do is down this file (Right click and choose SAVE AS or SAVE TARGET AS). Save it somewhere where you will remember where it is, like MY DOCUMENTS. Once it's downloaded, go to the folder where you saved it and doubte click it. Select yes to the question about whether you really want to merge this file with your registry. Then reboot your computer and try to change the background.

I can change everything like the screen saver, theme and what not but it won't change the desktop background image. A list appears of all the available pictures I just can't click on any of them.

Line 142, right column, download and double click to merge into teh registry that file

Please download HiJackThis, install it, run it, save a log, and then attach the log to this thread using the "Browse" and "Add This Attachment" buttons below the reply box.

You have a pretty nasty infection going on in your machine...
Let's let the malware experts deal with this one.
Please go to the Malware Forum and follow the instructions at the top....Especially the Start Here.
That will give you several steps that will help you clean up 70 percent of all problems by yourself. If at the end of the process you are still having difficulty--and you may not be-- post a hijackthis log in THAT forum.
