my DVD-ROM drive is stuck: i press eject, and it will not come out. it just makes this sound like its going to, and a stopping sound, like its jammed or something. it has worked fine before, and i have not misused it in any way
suggestions please?

If there is a cd in it take a paper clip and insert it into a little hole in the front of the drive. It should open up.

Take the cd out if there is one. Try using the drive again and see if the problem still exists.

If you have previously burned something, the drive could be locked if it had an error. So reboot the pc and see if it is now unlocked.

If none of this helps you might have to buy a new drive.

LOL what all did you try?

You have to push it in right and give it some force lol...

you dont have to press the eject button. no

well i dunno if theres a cd in there, ive been poking around for a while, and its not ejecting. ive restarted numerous times, but to no avail.

*EDIT* finally! works! the hole worked, even though there was no disk inside.

thanks a lot, i learned something today
