norton zip rescue

i have windows 98 and when i start pc ascreen comes up with nortons zip rescue it says something to the effect windows is starting with nzr and it will take longer to load don't remove cd rom i don't have a cd rom for this don't know where it came from any help tyvm?

Hi rylee...Welcome to G2G!

There are a couple things we can try to stop this.

Click Start then Run and type msconfig into the run box...click "Ok". Under the "Startup" tab, look in the list for an entry relating to the Norton Zip Recovery and uncheck the check box next to it. Click "Apply" then "Ok" to exit the Configuration window.

Restart your machine and see if the NZR still runs. (Note: upon restart, you will get a Selective Startup window...this is normal. Put a check the box in the lower left corner of the window and it will not return.)

seems like that program is used to backup your system on a jazz or zip drive...does your machine have a jazz or zip drive installed
