why is it when ever i connect to a server and it clearly says there are people in the server it says that there isn't and doesn't let me connect to it??? this is with every server??? :tazz:
whats going on??

yes i do, but it allows me to search for the servers and it bings them up so i thought it was configured

try turning off the firewall (only temporarilly for a test...turn it back on after testing) and see if it works

yeah no luck i new all the things in there thank you very much for searching it though. i was wandering if anyone new the .exe name for the application that actually connects, because i hav set the allow all access to hl2 .exe which is the main one for the game and i was wandering if there was an other one?

make shure the firewall allows the steam application.


Try to allow steam.exe and hl2.exe

Yeah there isnt actually a CS.exe its steam and hl2, so when you try to connect does the server latency suddenly jump to 200, i had that problem i had to fordward all the steam port ranges on my router and i switched to avast anti virus and on access protection and its works fine. If you use wireless use the windows WZC or disable it dont use thrid party wireless software eg belkin utility and keep WZC running disable it in services to make sure it is off.
Also your isp might be able to help if you cant get it, was speaking to one for another problem and just asked him and he told me a quick fix for my router config as well to allow it on the routers firewall to.
