Reboot in safe mode (by tapping F8 at startup and select safe mode from the menu). Please go offline, close all browsers and any open Windows, making sure that only HijackThis is open. Scan and when it finishes, put an X in the boxes, only next to these following items, then click fix checked.
Running processes:
C:\PROGRA~1\Updefy\the else.exe
R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,CustomizeSearch = res://C:\PROGRA~1\Toolbar\toolbar.dll/sa

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [default scr] C:\PROGRA~1\Updefy\the else.exe

Find and delete this folder:
C:\PROGRAM FILES\Updefy <- this folder

I'm sure that'll take care of it. <_<

How do you prevent spyware from being installed again? We strongly recommend installing SpywareBlaster (it's free for personal use).

Prevent the installation of ActiveX-based spyware, adware, browser hijackers, dialers, and other potentially unwanted pests.
Block spyware/tracking cookies in Internet Explorer and Mozilla/Firefox.
Restrict the actions of potentially dangerous sites in Internet Explorer.
Consumes no system resources.

Download, run, check for updates, download updates, select all, protect against checked. All done. Check for updates every couple of weeks. If you have any errors running the program like a missing file see the link at the bottom of the javacool page.
Link to SpywareBlaster: http://www.javacools...areblaster.html

It's also very important to keep your system up to date to avoid unnecessary security risks. Click Here to make sure that you have the latest patches for Windows.

:D
I'm posting my log once again.

I am STILL having problems with my computer shutting down and restarting! It also does it when I try to run spybot search and destroy. I've done everything, I run adaware DAILY at least to get rid of 'expletive'. I DO have Spyware blaster installed and it should be protecting, me right?

Do you have any ideas of any other possible reasons that it keeps shutting down and restarting on me? I have also went to Microsoft and I DO run my updates almost daily also. My only question there would be, the critical ones are always done, but do I have to do ALL of the recommended ones?

If I thought it would help, and I had the money, I'd get a new computer! <_<
The last time I took this in for repair to a shop for a similiar problem, they erased my hard drive without saving my files like they said they would. :D So, any other suggestions would be appreciated. I'm getting ready to take an online test and I'm fretting that this won't make it through until the end.
Thanks for listening.

If I thought it would help, and I had the money, I'd get a new computer!

You don't need a new computer. <_<

The last time I took this in for repair to a shop for a similar problem, they erased my hard drive without saving my files like they said they would.

And they call themselves professionals? The cold hard truth it's much easier for a shop to simply reformat and reinstall than to properly diagnose a computer. It drives me crazy! I think maybe I should start a rating system to help find reputable computer repair shops. :D

When your computer restarts, do you get any error messages?

Do you have a Windows XP setup CD?

I took it the shop because the way I always fix it is to reformat! LOL

When it restarts it pops up with the window that says I've just recovered from a serious error and do i want to tell Microsoft about it. Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't. I will pay better attention next time as to exactly what it says.

I have the upgrade version of XP professional, and the original disk that came with it.

I think the rating system is a great idea!

Downloading the critical and securty updates from Windows Update will keep your system secure from the latest security threats. You may check the "reccomended" ones for your specific needs. Check the "Spyware FAQ" in my signature (below) about how you could have possibly gotten spyware again. As for your problem, reboot in safe mode (by tapping F8 at startup and select safe mode from the menu). Be sure you're able to view hidden files and folders, and remove the following files:

C:\Program Files\Support.com\ <-- This Folder
C:\Program Files\Common files\WinTools\ <-- This Folder

Please go offline, close all browsers and any open Windows, making sure that only HijackThis is open. Scan and when it finishes, put an X in the boxes, only next to these following items, then click fix checked.

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [SSRunScript] "C:\Program Files\Support.com\Charter\bin\SSRunScript.exe" /script "C:\Program Files\Support.com\Charter\vbs\verifyconnection.vbs" /args //b startupdelay
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [WinTools] C:\Program Files\Common files\WinTools\WToolsA.exe
O4 - Global Startup: Microsoft Office.lnk = C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office10\OSA.EXE

If you do not use Yahoo Messenger you may fix this as well:
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Yahoo! Pager] C:\Program Files\Yahoo!\Messenger\ypager.exe -quie

Reboot your PC.

If you would please, rescan with HijackThis and post a fresh log. This should nail out your problem. If not, just holla back. <_<

Good morning.

I ran the programs you suggested. Nothing was found in kill2me or housecall virus scan. There were quite a few trojans found with moosoft/The Cleaner. Those were removed with the programs. I'm having a hard time learning how to use the program, as the alarms keep going off and I'm not sure what to do!

All was well for a day or so. I still get a few pop-ups but nothing like before. BUT it is back to restarting during my normal nightly Norton System scan, STILL during SpyBot Search & Destroy, and this morning when I tried to run the Cleaner, it stopped and restarted before it finished running.
It also restarted at will a few times yesterday just while I was reading news online.
<_<

Someone else suggested I make my back up emergency disks with Norton and go in and do virus scan in DOS. Any comments on this?

Here is the error message I got this morning when it restarted during The Cleaner scan. I copied it from the Microsoft site after reporting it.
