I just recently re-installed windows XP home eddition on my laptop and I was getting the LSA Shell message before and now I'm still getting the same message. How do i fix this?


This is the error report message:

LSA Shell (Exoprt Version) has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.





Shut down message:
System Shutdown
This system is shutting down. Please save all work in progress and log off. Any unsaved changes will be lost. This shutdown was initiated by NT Authority\SYSTEM

Message
'C:\WINDOWS\system32\lsass.exe' terminated unexpectedly with sataus code 128. The system will now shut down and restart.

this almost sounds like an lsass exploit...but that couldn't stick with you through a format reinstall

Well now im in the process of downloading Service Pack 2 and geting all the updates so hopefully this takes care of the problem
