Please download VundoFix.exe to your desktop.

• Double-click VundoFix.exe to extract the files
• This will create a VundoFix folder on your desktop.
• After the files are extracted, please reboot your computer into Safe Mode. You can do this by restarting your computer and continually tapping the F8 key until a menu appears. Use your up arrow key to highlight Safe Mode then hit enter.
• Once in safe mode open the VundoFix folder and doubleclick on KillVundo.bat
• You will first be presented with a warning.

• At this point press enter one time.

Put a check next to the following (Make sure nothing else is checked!):

• Empty Recycle Bins
• Delete Cookies
• Delete Prefetch files
• Cleanup! All Users

Click OK
Press the CleanUp! button to start the program.

It may ask you to reboot at the end, click NO.

Then, please run this online virus scan: ActiveScan

Copy the results of the ActiveScan and paste them here along with a new HiJackThis log and the vundofix.txt file from the vundofix folder into this topic.

I just dont know about the others or why they are on your system.

I have to wait for an emailed response from virus total. The second link said that csrss.exe was infected, crash.txt was clean, and C:\WINDOWS\CustoMess_Uninstall.exe might be infected. Here's what it had to say about the maybe:

OK,you know exactly which csrss file to delete,so do that immediatly.

As for the other files,Im just not sure what they are and if they belong on the System,only you can determine that.

Usually right clicking the file and selecting properties will yield some results.

Look through everything in the Properties page and see if you can make an association with something on the PC.

I went ahead and delted csrss. I dont have a clue what crash.txt is, but it came up clean. I opened it up and it was just a jumble of random characters. CustoMess came from http://www.mess.be and it was for a program that was deleted a long time ago. Here are the results on it:

OK,this is what I do in these situations

The CustoMess_Uninstall.exe can go,I dont need to say more

crash.txt-> Delete it but leave it be in the Recycle Bin until you have rebooted and done you normal days runs on the PC.

I just have a bad feeling about that file.

My computer seems to be running alright. It seems like it's running a little slower than normal, but I doubt that has anything to do with crash.txt.

Weird how Ive never seen it before and all the sudden its in 2 totally different post.


When was the last time you gave the PC a really hard cleaning?

That's crazy. Maybe it's something new. The last hard clean I gave it was about 3 weeks ago. I can go ahead and give it another one.

Here is what I was thinking about,a good System Defragment

A serious Temp File and Folder Dump

Delete files/folder from the following directories (But not the directory itself, for example delete all files/folder IN temp; but not temp itself!)

C:\Temp

C:\Windows\Temp

C:\Windows\System32\Temp

C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Local Settings\Temp

C:\Documents and Settings\<Your Profile>\Local Settings\Temp

C:\Documents and Settings\<All other users Profile>\Local Settings\Temp

Empty your "Recycle Bin"

Open Internet Explorer,
Select Tools,
Select Internet Options
Select Delete Cookies and Delete Files(Check the box for Delete all offline content)

Go to Start,
Select All Programs
Select Accessories
Select System Tools
Select and Run Disk Cleanup(Make sure that all boxes are checked for cleaning)

CCleaner is always a good addition as well for temp cleaning

All you will want to use on this is the Opening Page(Windows Tab)Just Click Run Cleaner and let it do its thing!


A quick clean of the registry

Last lets get a hefty Reg Cleaner and move out all dead registry entries!

Once downloaded and launched,Click Yes to Update the Cache-> Click "Registry Cleaner"-> Click "Aggresive" and "Start"-> Fix everything it finds-> Name the Backup it creates and Save it somewhere safe!


A flush of all the DNS Cache

Disconnect from the Internet.

Click Start>>Run>>Type in CMD and Click OK

At the Dos Prompt Screen,type in cd\ and hit enter

Now type in ipconfig /flushdns and click enter

Once it is done,close command prompt


I have a feeling this will speed you up a good bit,if you have problems with any of it,let me know.

Thanks for the help. You were right, I've notice a huge burst in speed. I did encounter two problems while following your instructions. "C:\Windows\System32\Temp" does not exist and when I tried to flush the DNS Cache I was given this message: "Could not flush the DNS Resolver Cache: Function failed during execution".
