I found these instructions:
How do I configure Outlook® 98/2000 to work with multiple email accounts?
1. Open Outlook.
2. From the Tools menu, select Accounts.
3. Select Add, then Mail.
4. Type your full name in the Display name field, then select Next.
5. Type your email address, then select Next.
6. Fill in the server information.
7. From the My Incoming mail server is a drop-down menu, choose your server type:
• POP3 - Post Office Protocol version 3
• IMAP - Internet Message Access Protocol
• HTTP - HyperText Transfer Protocol
8. If you selected POP3 or IMAP as your incoming mail server type, enter your ISP's incoming and outgoing mail server settings in the corresponding Incoming Mail Server and Outgoing Mail Server fields.

NOTE: If you select HTTP as your incoming mail server type, an HTTP Service Provider menu will appear. Select your provider from the HTTP Service Provider menu. If Other is selected you must enter the URL to mail server in the Incoming Mail Server field.

My question is do I use http, imap, or pop 3 I can't figure this out from the verizon website ?

Try all three, but my guess would be POP3...

What does Verizon themselves say about it?? That's where you have to get the setup procedure from!! NOT, the instructions from Microsoft for OE!!!
