My computer had the bagle virus and latelly it is doing wierd things. AOL kept giving me a popup saying it needs to install important files or I cant connect to the internet. I install them and reboot and it says the same thing over and over. I tried to manually make a connection but it doesnt see my modem as working. I checked everything for modem and it is fine. but doesnt see my modem as installed on computer. I deleted it but forgot to back drivers up so I installed a new modem. after uninstall and reinstall I finally get connected to internet. Here is the weird part...

windows XP home says I have made to many changes to hardware and I need to re-regester. So I do it and dont make any changes. Then I wake up this morning and it says I have made to many hardware changes I need to update and re-regester. I dont want to go through this every day. Let me know whats wrong. AVG isn't finding any new viruses now though it blocked a few last week. I ran crap-cleaner and spybot. whats next?

Hey I did those steps. Today my wife used yahoo messenger. Now it doesnt work anymore. It wont launch. I re-downloaded it and it still wont launch. Not sure whats going on. If you can figure out a way to reinstall I think that might be best. Get a clean OS. LMK

during boot up I hit f8 and one of the options for this is
"Directory Services Restore Mode (Windows Domain Controllers Only)"

Would this reinstall all of XP? or is it something different? LMK

I have to keep calling microsoft about reactivating my XP. It is anoying. I installed a different modem cause other one quit. however the other one showwed no issues in the XP but still wasnt being seen as installed by the network connection wizzard. seems to go ok for now. I really need to buy a copy of XP again or XP pro. Let me know if you find a way to reinstall it without cd. Thanks. GodsElmo

Please do an online scan with Kaspersky WebScanner

Click on Kaspersky Online Scanner

You will be promted to install an ActiveX component from Kaspersky, Click Yes.

• The program will launch and then begin downloading the latest definition files:
• Once the files have been downloaded click on NEXT
  
• Now click on Scan Settings
• In the scan settings make that the following are selected:
  • Scan using the following Anti-Virus database:
  Extended (if available otherwise Standard)
  
  • Scan Options:
  Scan Archives
  Scan Mail Bases
• Click OK
• Now under select a target to scan:Select My Computer
• This will program will start and scan your system.
• The scan will take a while so be patient and let it run.
• Once the scan is complete it will display if your system has been infected.
  • Now click on the Save as Text button:
• Save the file to your desktop.
• Copy and paste that information in your next post.
