I have followed all the instructions to rid myself and my machine of this dastardly evil. THe first time Norton never even picked it up, now it is telling me I have vundo again, but that it can't fix it.

2 strange things are happening. When I downloaded hijack this = it told me it was in a temp folder - upon closer examination it was actually located in C:drive in program files, so I couldn't understand this message.


I ran the geeks to go solution again today and again it couldn't find hijack this.

Also, when I manually ran the hijack this program, the items listed were slightly different to what they were meant to be...

as you can see the BHO object doesnt end in \ddcdc.dll as it is meant to?

And the Winlogon notify ending in ddcdc.dll doesnt exist either...

so how do I have this virus?!

And what to do?

i followed all the steps.

The first time I tried to run hijack this - it said that the files were blocked from being removed and to contact the hijack this guy by email.

I rebooted - the same norton message came up telling me I was infected with vundo.
Then I ran cleanup....

I tried to download activescan, but for some reason it kept giving me an error message.

OMG!!!

Now what!!!? I am feeling insane here!

Was there any issues going to Safe Mode and was anything strange in Safe Mode?

Right Click the Zip Folder and Select "Extract All"

Don't use it yet

Reboot into SAFE MODE(Tap F8 when restarting)

From the WinPFind folder-> Doubleclick WinPFind.exe and Click "Start Scan"

It will scan the entire System, so please be patient

One you see "Scan Complete"-> a log (WinPFind.txt) will be automatically generated in the WinPFind folder
