You can run defrag as often as you like, running it every couple of weeks is good
If you cannot find SP2 and update does not offer it, get it on CD and re-install it

ok so i found movie mk in one of the folders but the icon next to it wasnt' a reel it was the box which means that u need to install so i clicked on it and the movie maker 2.0 intaller came up again.... i almost feel as though thats a virus cause it'd just completely taken away any other movie maker

i actually do have malware and am currently working on getting rid of it but thats not where the problem started the problem started because i needed to register the program in order to use it (microsoft movie maker) and i didn't have any upc code cause it came with the comp so i decided to dl the microsoft movie maker 2 and i can't get it past the installer and now i'm looking for the media maker so i don't think malware is the problem though i could be wrong

It will be better to wait till the malware is gone because it will affect any changes you try now
