windows XP safe mode drivers

I was just wondering if anyone out there knows what drivers are used when safe mode boots up, about 30-40 of them or something like that. .sys files and the like, and if you're able to paste over those drivers with old or newer ones if they are infected with a virus or are corrupted.

Windows uses generic catch-all drivers for Safe Mode. The whole point of Safe Mode is to get to a working interface to sort the issues that are preventing the computer from working in normal Windows mode.

Plus of course if something else is screwing up Windows in normal mode that isn't driver related, then copying them all for use in normal mode won't help anything.

thats the problem though, safe mode doesn't work, but normal windows does
