Keyboard problem, only 1 movement at a time

i got a new computer, came with new wireless keybaord & mouse, its a microsoft wireless keyboard with a usb receiver.

When i play a computer game, about 30% of the time it only lets me function 1 action at a time with my keyboard. Eg: i run foward, and move left while still running foward and it stops and have to re press the run foward button.

I contacted my computer shop and they told me to download the latest drivers and i did that and still the same problem. Can anyone please help
