no cursor unless im in safe mode

how can i get my cursor back so i can use my mouse in windows normally. I have windows ME and there is no cursor when i boot up normally. But when i start it up in safe mode i have a cursor. How do i get my cursor back?

Do you have one of those fancy "special driver required" mice or do you have just an ordinary 2 button ps/2 mouse? It could be a bad mouse driver seeing that safe mode uses default windows drivers for everything. Go into device manager. Thats right clicking my computer, properties, device manager. select view devices by type. Go down to mouse, is there a mouse listed? If so, double click on the mouse listed, go to the driver tab, and click update driver, let windows search for a driver, it might need the cd, and just use the generic mouse driver that windows has.
