Dvd movies play, but they dont show a the video

I dont udnerstand..... I can watch files and other things, but I can't watch dvd movies on my computer. the sound plays but I cant see the video (just installed new windows media player to see if that would fix it, but it didn't.

I am not sure if WMP has a MPEG-2 video decoder codec "out of the box"? You can try a couple of nice free media players that can handle DVD playback without additional downloads or codecs.

Media Player Classic - great open-source small footprint media player that can play DVD's. Check it out at http://www.afterdawn...yer_classic.cfm

Another great choice is the VLC Media Player that can also easily handle DVD's, check it out at http://www.videolan.org/vlc/
