I have problems accessing hotmails server I think (I have been told by a geeky person!) but I have no idea how to solve it. I can access all the other mail sites but it is only hotmail!

Please help as hotmail is my main e-mail provider :tazz:

Thanks

P.S. I have a wireless network around the house and the other computer that I have, hotmail does not work on either!!

do you have a firewall installed, particularly zonealarm or Norton Interent Security.

Try disabling and see if that makes a difference

given that info,it is not a PC problem, but a communication problem. You appear to be located in Europe (netherlands)...you said sometimes you can get on, but others not....is there a time where the problem is consistant?

I live in England lol but no there is no constant time that it will work ??

Will it be anything to do withj ports allowed access or summit cos i was playing with my wireless router and i noticed that you could add ports (one of which being http and pop3 mail - but for these it wants an IP) This is in the firewall section in my router!

Thanks for the reply!

start > run
type

ping www.hotmail.com

in the black box....what is the result

Also, Just as a test, remove the router and hook the line directly to a PC.

You can no longer access hotmail through mail clients unless you use the updates (not free) service.

Right here is the story at exactly 09.30pm (GMT) I was able to into hoptmail and after this it did not work afterwards.

My computer is already directly hooked up to the router (wired) and the result of pinging hotmail was the attachment.

Once i was on hotmail there was no problem with checking my e-mails etc. only when i closed it and tried to get back on.

Thanks alot
