I am on vacation at my sisters house :)

She wanted me to hook her printer up for her, so i did :)

The problem I am having is that I can get the printer in the list of printers options when i want to print a document. I can do a test print thru the software loaded if i click on the icon, but it won't give me the option of the HP P1000 in the list of printers.

Any suggestions would be great.

thanks,

:tazz:

HP P1000 Photosmart Printer
24th Nov-2005

Need a little more info:
1- What is the Operating System
2- What Service Pack is installed
3- Are there other USB Devices that are working
4- Model – Make – Type of PC
5- Model – Make of Motherboard
6- What printers are shown in [Printers] Folder in [Control Panel]
7- What do you mean by [Printer Icon]

If it is the Icon for HP P1000 Printer – Then Right Click on this Icon > Then set as [Default Printer]

The 1st item to know is > [If system supports USB]
2nd Item is > [Is USB Enabled]
3rd Item is > [Are USB Ports properly wired]

Usually on USB Problems – I request that the Free Home Edition of [Everest] be downloaded & Run to obtain Reports on [CPU] – [Motherboard] & [Devices] --- These reports usually answer all my questions - http://www.lavalys.c...p?pid=1&lang=en

Does [Device Manager] show any [Unknown Devices] or are there any [Yellow Warning Signs]

When Installing USB Devices – The important step is > [When to connect printer to USB Port] – Did Plug & Play find [New Hardware] & give a [Printer Installed Correctly]

Here are some HP Links for Printer in question – Look over the USB Overview Link – It is an excellent USB Info Source – This printer has [Card Reader] + Printer So should have several USB Entries in [Device Manager] – Should see:
1- USB Printer Support
2- USB Mass Storage
3- USB Printer Device
4- USB Car Reader
