Good Morning, I found the WeatherBug Browser Bar, and I notice that it occupies no space and will not let me delete it, as it cannot find it, in the add and remove programs area.

I like Fire Fox so far. I have it running MSN.

I think I will remove the WeatherBug program and then install it again, and then try to remove the Browser Bar.

We have cooled off to the thirties for the highs and the wind has now stopped blowing so hard.

I Live in Skiatook, Oklahoma, USA.

I read about Menieres, and it sound like you have occations that make you feel very bad, sorry you have this. Will you outgrow it later in life?

All for now.

Hello again Larry

Very few people know about Meniere's Disease, referred to as Morbus Meniere's in the USA. I am now into my third year with it and just hope that I go into remission or even burn out, but the attacks are still with me at present. They prevent me from working, have in the past caused me to be housebound, unable to drive and my hearing worsens each time. There are people much worse than myself so I count myself lucky.

I have just reviewed this thread to see if I missed anything and I don't think I have, so my best guess is that it is the Weather Bug causing the advertising.

There is one more scan we can do and I think it might be beneficial. This is a new version of a very able antispyware programme, which I must admit is so far very impressive.

Please download SpySweeper (It's a 2 week trial):
  • Click the Free Trial link under to "SpySweeper" to download the program.
  • Install it. Once the program is installed, it will open.
  • It will prompt you to update to the latest definitions, click Yes.
  • Once the definitions are installed, click Options on the left side.
  • Click the Sweep Options tab.
  • Under What to Sweep please put a check next to the following:
    • Sweep Memory
    • Sweep Registry
    • Sweep Cookies
    • Sweep All User Accounts
    • Enable Direct Disk Sweeping
    • Sweep Contents of Compressed Files
    • Sweep for Rootkits
    • Please UNCHECK Do not Sweep System Restore Folder.
  • Click Sweep Now on the left side.
  • Click the Start button.
  • When it's done scanning, click the Next button.
  • Make sure everything has a check next to it, then click the Next button.
  • It will remove all of the items found.
  • Click Session Log in the upper right corner, copy everything in that window.
  • Click the Summary tab and click Finish.
  • Paste the contents of the session log you copied into your next reply.
I am looking forward to this log.

Here is the results from SpySweeper. I also removed the Weather Bug Program and installed Desktop Weather 4. It also has ads, but has a place to check that you don't want ads. This only works one time, I suspect that if I were to purchase the full version, that I could get rid of the ads. Think I can put up with them.

Hello again Larry

If Spy Sweeper can only find a few cookies, then you can be certain that you are very much malware free.

Are you happy with the way things are on your PC?

Yes I am and think I will just have to put up with the little advertising that all websites use, to help pay for the website. I do thank you for all of your help, and hope you have a good holiday season.
