Dude i am so confused... I've had the Sims 2 for a while and it's been just fine... until now. it won't work at all and none of the files are opening. It says in a little window thingy "Unspecified error" wich is soooo not helpful

I have xp, wich could b part of the problem? i really am cluless...
help please!!!
((by the way im not too computer smarted so little words please!!))
