[Collis]

I have the most annoying pop up problem!

I have downloaded all the free spyware programs but most don't find it!

The only program that finds it is Adware Away, but it cannot remove it.

Its called Notify Dll Hijacker and gives me constant pop ups and redirects my browser. cry.gif

any help would be great.

Save the file to your desktop and double click l2mfix.exe. Click the Install button to extract the files and follow the prompts, then open the newly added l2mfix folder on your desktop. Double click l2mfix.bat and select option #1 for Run Find Log by typing 1 and then pressing enter. This will scan your computer and it may appear nothing is happening, then, after a minute or 2, notepad will open with a log. Copy the contents of that log and paste it into this thread.

IMPORTANT: Do NOT run option #2 OR any other files in the l2mfix folder until you are asked to do so!

if you receive, while running option #1, an error similar like: ''C:\windows\system32\cmd.exe,
C:\windows\system32\autoexec.nt the system file is not suitable for running ms-dos and microsoft windows applications. choose close to terminate the application.."...then please use option 5 or the web page link in the l2mfix folder to solve this error condition. do not run the fix portion without fixing this first.

Close any programs and windows you have open since this step requires a reboot.

From the l2mfix folder on your desktop, double click l2mfix.bat and select option #2 for Run Fix by typing 2 and then pressing enter. It will process then start. Your desktop and icons will disappear (this is normal). L2mfix will continue to scan your computer and when it's finished, it will be ready for a reboot. Press any key to reboot. After the reboot notepad will open with a log. Copy the contents of that log and paste it back into this thread, along with a new hijackthis log.

IMPORTANT: Do NOT run any other files in the l2mfix folder unless you are asked to do so!
If after the reboot the log does not open double click on it in the l2mfix folder.

First, we have to disable Microsoft Anti-Spyware so that it won't interfere with further cleaning:

Open Microsoft AntiSpyware.

• Click on Tools, Settings.
• In the left pane, click on Real-time Protection.
• Under Startup Options uncheck: Enable the Microsoft AntiSpyware Security Agents on startup (recommended).
• Under Real-time spyware threat protection uncheck: Enable real-time spyware threat protection (recommended).
• After you uncheck these, click on the Save button and close Microsoft AntiSpyware.
• Right click on the Microsoft AntiSpyware icon on the taskbar and select Shutdown Microsoft AntiSpyware.
• We will re-enable it once we're done.

Close all programs and windows. Run HiJackThis. Place a check next to the following items and click FIX CHECKED:

* Please download the Killbox by Option^Explicit.

* Save it to your desktop.

* Run Killbox.exe.

* Select "Delete on Reboot".

* Go up to Options > Delete On Reboot and select Process ALL in list (this must be selected in order for the files to be deleted.)

* Copy the file names below to the clipboard by highlighting ALL of them then press CTRL + C

Looks much better Now for final cleaning...

First, download and install CleanUp!

Open Cleanup! by double-clicking the icon on your desktop (or from the Start > All Programs menu).
Set the program up as follows:
Click "Options..."
Move the arrow down to "Custom CleanUp!"
Put a check next to the following (Make sure nothing else is checked!):

• Empty Recycle Bins
• Delete Cookies
• Delete Prefetch files
• Cleanup! All Users

Click OK
Press the CleanUp! button to start the program.

It may ask you to reboot or log-off at the end, if it does click No.

Then, please run this online virus scan:
ActiveScan (scan "My Computer")

Copy the results of the ActiveScan and paste them here.

By the way, you'll have to use Internet Explorer to run the scan because Firefox is not supported by ActiveScan.

the cleanup worked fine and removed over 2gb of files from my pc, the scan wouldnt work as it didnt let me press the 'scan now' icon for some reason.

The problem seems to be gone anyhow, thanks so much for your help.

You have to use Internet Explorer, you can't run the scan using Firefox
