Ok I posted a log a while back, got an ansa on how to delete some bits, problem is I am new to this sort of problem, so not sure if i did it right(obviously not ) as now the problem is worse.


when i try to run panda online scan my pc always shuts down half way thru, same with adaware, spybot only cleans a few files, and all the time i am getting pop ups, download windows etc.


Please could someone have a look at my hijack this log and give me advice,as simple as is possible so i can get the hang of deleting these/this d*** thing/s

also do not know if relevant but all of a sudden i cannot update my xp it fails all the time now

Then lets put a checkmark next to these entries in your HJT and let Hijack "fix"

Now lets reboot you into safe mode like this:

Hit the "start" button then "turn off computer" and then select "restart" and then before it boots up again start gently tapping the F-8 key steadily but gently. You should be guided to the advanced windows Menu and select "safe mode" from the list. If you miss it the first try just restart again I have faith in you!

Ok were in safe mode then lets go to "My Computer" and open it, select "tools" and then "folder options" and select the "view tab" from there you will see " Hidden Files and Folders" and select the " Show Hidden files and folders" and click OK.

Now delete this entire folder. (in red) I would go inside and delete the entire contents first and then the folder itself.

C:\Program Files\SED

Reboot one last time. Your PC should now be free from
spyware!We suggest that you run HijackThis again, just to make sure
that none of the entries that you removed suddenly reappeared. If they haven't, print out our HijackThis log and put it somewhere safe. You can refer to it later if your PC starts acting up.

Also, I see you have a TON of anti-spyware and anti-Virus programs but I dont see an anti trojan running? They are indeed different from anti virus and spyware tools so I would indeed recommend you download "TD3 Anti-Trojan" which is a very good shield of protection against these type of threats.Theres is a link in my signature to our download section where you can obtain a free copy.

also not sure if it is relevant, but keep getting a low virtual memory message coming up,and closing down programs, still unable to fully run a panda online scan fully

Hi again El,
I got your message, ok heres a few items you can get rid of which will give you back a bit of the memory you are expending. The adobe is prob one of the biggest offenders and unless you use it for work or something I would get rid of it.

To be protected in the future I would use the Spybot to monitor the system along with the TD3 which you now know how to use, just let it run. In Spybot open it and on the left you will see the "Immunize" option, click on that and then hit the "Immunize" button on the top. You can then set the permissions in the bottom box. You may need memory as far as your running short, todays programs are pigs to be honest and its common for people to use a full Gig (1024 MB's) today.

Your new log looks clean, heres some other things to consider.
