Hello all,

When I shut down my computer, it goes through the motions of "Windows is shutting down" but never shuts completely down. Instead, I get a blue screen of death with the following error:

STOP: 0x0000008E (0xC0000005, 0x8056E2A2, 0xF8C07AA0, 0x00000000)

Any help on how to correct this problem? For the record, my computer is only good for internet, digital pictures, and email so I'm not very computer-talk savvy. :tazz:

Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi Everam01!

Please go into the Event Viewer and see what errors occurred at the time you get this error message.

Click START-->RUN and type EVENTVWR.MSC and hit ENTER.

Look under SYSTEMS AND APPLICATIONS for items with RED X's that happened at the SAME time as your problem...List them here.
