Hi, I'm having trouble getting rid of the winfixer 2005 popups. At first I thought it was a legitimate spyware removal software, but I never download anything from a popup and thank goodness I didn't make this an exception! I did a search on winfixer on google and came across this forum, I guess I'm not the only one having this problem! I tried using ad-aware to remove winfixer but that didn't work, so I went ahead to step 5 and performed a hijackthis log.. i'm not very good at computers and any help is greatly appreciated, thank you!

Hi, I'm having trouble executing HijackThis while Vundofix is open.. After I've entered the second file path and pressed enter in Vundofix, the screen becomes blank/black, nothing is open other than the Vundofix window.. and Vundofix can't find HiJackThis so I had to open it manually.. but because there's nothing showing (no desktop no taskbar, no start menu) I can't open Hijackthis manually. Then I restarted my computer and tried again, this time I opened Hijackthis in advance. After I entered the second file path and pressed enter, everything else was gone like the first time, but HIjackthis was still open.. but this time I can't find the items O2 - BHO... and O20 - Winlogon Notify... on hijackthis.. so that didn't work either.. While I was executing the Vundofix, I noticed that it couldn't find the two file paths that I entered.. ..hmm.. what should i do now? thanks!

Restart Normal and Please do an online scan with Kaspersky WebScanner

Click on Kaspersky Online Scanner

You will be promted to install an ActiveX component from Kaspersky, Click Yes.

• The program will launch and then begin downloading the latest definition files:
• Once the files have been downloaded click on NEXT
  
• Now click on Scan Settings
• In the scan settings make that the following are selected:
  • Scan using the following Anti-Virus database:
  Extended (if available otherwise Standard)
  
  • Scan Options:
  Scan Archives
  Scan Mail Bases
• Click OK
• Now under select a target to scan:Select My Computer
• This will program will start and scan your system.
• The scan will take a while so be patient and let it run.
• Once the scan is complete it will display if your system has been infected.
  • Now click on the Save as Text button:
• Save the file to your desktop.
• Copy and paste that information in your next post along with a fresh HijackThis log.
