urgent. completely lost, cant make my monitor come on when i boot comp

Is it internal or external video...
Where does the monitor plug in...
Is it where the mouse and keyboard plug in or is it down lower where there is some slots that are abot 4in long with what may have your modem or DSL card ect.
Could the card for the video come loose and need to be reseated?

my sistem has windows xp, sp1, 1.69gghz, 128ram. built in graphics card...

well there are a few trusted sites that say i can have a 1gig card so i dont know which ones to believe mate... either way, i've gone on this link and it ocntains some updates that my motherboard can have... have a look at the graphic on especially cause it says something bout fixing blank screen... maybe one of thos can fix it?? heres the link.
