Hey superior geeks, i am in desperate need of assistance. Recently ive had a problem opening my movies folder, every time i click on it, it freezes the window, and if i leave it long enough an error message comes up about some "drwatson" program having trouble and i have to open task manager and close it, but when i open task manager, i see that every time i try to open my movies folder, it starts an application called Drwatson32. I dont know whether this watson is the problem, or something trying to fix a problem. I have several anti-spyware programs and i run norton constantly. Since this problem i have run Pest Patrol, Ad Aware, and Spy Bot, all finding different things, and none fixing my problem. I downloaded Hijack this and i was hoping if i pasted my log after running all those scans somebody might be able to help me find whats wrong. Thanks to anyone who can do anything to help. Hey geeks, hate to bother you again, thanks for clearing my log, but it didnt help solve my problem. i do have the latest windows media player, and i tried evrything i could think of to make it work, but the problem doesnt come when i try to play the movies, just when i open my movies folder, about 2 seconds after i do, drwatson32 starts in my task manager and i have to force quit it to get control back. You have a nasty About:Blank infection. This fix requires several tools that need to be downloaded. Please download these now, we will run them later.

1) About:Buster - Download it and extract it to C:/aboutbuster.
2) CleanUp! - Download it and install it.
3) CWShredder 2.11 - Download it and save it to your desktop.
4) Ad-Aware - Download, install, and update.

During the fix do NOT connect to the internet. Unless you can memorize these instructions, it would be a good idea to print them out.

Boot into safe mode:
Restart your computer and as soon as it starts booting up again continuously tap F8. A menu should come up where you will be given the option to enter Safe Mode.

Run AboutBuster
-Click Start to begin the process
-Click OK on the Buster Report dialogue box to start the scan
AboutBuster scans the computer for malicious files and deletes them.
Save the report (copy and paste into Notepad and save as a .txt file) to post a copy for review.

Run CWShredder
-Next, click on the: ‘Fix’ button
-Follow the prompts, and press OK

Run CleanUp
-Make sure it is on Standard Mode
-Click the "CleanUp!" button

Run Ad-Aware
-Configure Ad-Aware for a full system scan
-Run it

Clean Up the left overs

Ok i did all of that, but none of the scans found anything i dont think, and very few of the files you told me to delete from Hijack were there.... so manybe its fixed. here are my logs.

Well darn. I opened my movies folder again, and it did the same thing, it was fine for about 10 seconds, and after i scrolled up and down the folder for, like i said about 10 seconds, it opened drwatson in my task manager, and i lost all control. Please, if you have any more advice, id appreciate it. im desperate.

I just tried to transfer the files onto my other computer so i can wipe my hard drive, and it says it cant copy any of them becasue the drive might be write protected or im using the files. the hard drive isnt write protected or whatever, and i wasnt using them. I thought that was odd. Any ideas?

Hmm...not sure, maybe try it from safe mode. Some people have been having success by removing windows media 10 and service pack 2, but it is kinda important. You could try removing windows media 10, if that doesnt work, sp2, and then as a last resort work on wiping that hardrive.

i know its a noobish question, but how could i go about getting rid of service pack 2, as far as i can remember, its caused me nothing but headache. i already uninstalled wmp10, and it didnt help, i havent done a system restore point in a long time, so that may be a bad option, so if you can help me just like, re install windows or something, that would be very helpful. thanks.

If you boot in safe mode then open my computer or my documents and then control panel there will be a add or remove programs section. Go in there and look for service pack 2, click on it and remove.
If that doesnt work, put your windows CD in and on start up hit F8 or Del or whatever gets u into setup and go boot from CD, but then dont boot from Cd straight away, maybe try the recovery option first, then you wont need to back up all your files.
