hello everybody,

I hope you can help here..
here is my problems: All of a sudden, my Sony DVD burner has stopped burning DVDs. I can still burn CDRW or CR but not DVDs. the error I used to get was "operation failed. Could not perform end of disc at once".
Now It won't eve try to burn it as the "burn" option is greyed out. I have tried to find the right drivers for the DVD reader/buenr with no luck. I have found this :4222fb11e but it doesn't work.

Sony has been pretty much of no use so I am stuck. I do not want to format the whole thing for this problem.
I used to have Nero 6 then upgraded to 7 and Roxio. unistalled both ( not that straight forward, i can tell you) and now I have reinstalled nero 6. I have tried to unistall all the IDE controller and then restart, with no luck.
i have also tried different media, like Imation or TDK, with no difference.

Sometimes it won't see the disc at all..

Everytime I try to burn a dvd I get one of the following messages:
Illegal disc
cold not perform end of disc at once
insert a RW disc ( when it is already in there)
The "burn"button is greyed out and I simply can't burn.

Please help!!
