First go to Add/Remove Software and see if you can remove:
Weatherbug
Boingo
VirtualBouncer
SVA Player

Regardless of whether that works or not continue with what's below.

Check the items listed below in HijackThis, (close all windows except HijackThis) and click Fix checked:

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings,ProxyServer = http=proxy-server:8080;https=proxy- server:8080

Thank you for your help. I won't be able to get back on that computer until tomorrow, but when I do I'll post a new log. One question though, Boingo is the program that I use with my wireless antenna, so should I leave those entries alone?

I did everything you told me to do, but I don't think it got rid of everything because I'm still getting the popups.

First If you haven't (though I assume you have) run scans with Adaware, SpyBot, CWshredder and a good antivirus/trojan detector. (If you heve then move on)

Open Up HijackThis and check the following items in the list to be fixed:

O1 - Hosts: 69.20.16.183 auto.search.msn.com
O1 - Hosts: 69.20.16.183 search.netscape.com
O1 - Hosts: 69.20.16.183 ieautosearch
O1 - Hosts: 69.20.16.183 ieautosearch
O1 - Hosts: 69.20.16.183 ieautosearch
(While these seem innocent when I go to that IP its an adware site)

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ViewMgr] C:\Program Files\Viewpoint\Viewpoint Manager\ViewMgr.exe

If you dont use this program then its spyware. (it can be a good proggy or a malware and if you dont know how you got it of if you dont use it then itts prolly not good)

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [WildTangent CDA] RUNDLL32.exe "C:\Program Files\WildTangent\Apps\CDA\cdaEngine0400.dll",cdaEngineMain

O4 - Global Startup: Microsoft Office.lnk = C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\OSA9.EXE
This is completely usless

O10 - Unknown file in Winsock LSP: c:\winnt\system32\dolsp.dll
O10 - Unknown file in Winsock LSP: c:\winnt\system32\dolsp.dll
O10 - Unknown file in Winsock LSP: c:\winnt\system32\dolsp.dll
O10 - Unknown file in Winsock LSP: c:\winnt\system32\dolsp.dll

O16 - DPF: {C02226EB-A5D7-4B1F-BD7E-635E46C2288D} (Toontown Installer ActiveX Control) - http://download.toon...11.6/ttinst.cab

I went to this site too and I didn't see anything bad or good. so If you know what it is then you should be ok. if you dont, then get rid of it.

Ok now again Please reboot into safe mode (continually tap the F8 key while your system is starting, select Safe Mode from the menu).
Be sure you're able to view hidden files, and remove the following files in bold (if found):

C:\Program Files\Viewpoint\
C:\Program Files\WildTangent\
c:\winnt\system32\dolsp.dll

Reboot normally and post a new log

When I try to fix the Winsock LSP files, it tells me that I should use a specialized LSP fixing program, but when I use the one that they recommend (www.cexx.org/lspfix.htm) it doesn't find anything.

That's the latest one after following all of your instructions. I wasn't able to delete dolsp.dll either. Also, I'm still getting the popups. Any more ideas?

You cannot go directly to the location of the file and delete it like I stated? ( c:\winnt\system32\dolsp.dll ) weird. Um I will be honest I am not a guru or a genius at these logs, I am just fairly good. With that being said I have exauhsted all I know.

Sorry dcohen21, we had an over eager staff member in training trying to help you.

You have the latest version of VX2. Download L2mfix from one of these two locations:

http://www.atribune....oads/l2mfix.exe
http://www.downloads....org/l2mfix.exe

Save the file to your desktop and double click l2mfix.exe. Click the Install button to extract the files and follow the prompts, then open the newly added l2mfix folder on your desktop. Double click l2mfix.bat and select option #1 for Run Find Log by typing 1 and then pressing enter. This will scan your computer and it may appear nothing is happening, then, after a minute or 2, notepad will open with a log. Copy the contents of that log and paste it into this thread.

IMPORTANT: Do NOT run option #2 OR any other files in the l2mfix folder until you are asked to do so!

Hi dcohen21

Close any programs you have open since this step requires a reboot.

From the l2mfix folder on your desktop, double click l2mfix.bat and select option #2 for Run Fix by typing 2 and then pressing enter, then press any key to reboot your computer. After a reboot, your desktop and icons will appear, then disappear (this is normal). L2mfix will continue to scan your computer and when it's finished, notepad will open with a log. Copy the contents of that log and paste it back into this thread, along with a new hijackthis log.

IMPORTANT: Do NOT run any other files in the l2mfix folder unless you are asked to do so!
