ive recently reinstalled windows xp from chinese to enlgihs. but all my pc does now is beep sometimes, there's no sound. i've tried to download the new sound drivers from the web but when i install it and its done, it makes an error message which says there is no driver installed and i must restart... and same thing next time windows comes up...

i have an intel pentium 4
motherboard is brooksdale i845 which i believe came all together with the computer.

in my device manager i still have the audio and video codecs, but if i got to my sound preferences there is simply no device installed.

On everst software, i get all the info for my PC but under multimedia its completely empty....
how do i get sound back on my PC???

thank you.

shroomly.

Hi shroomly!

Have you gone to Windows Update and clicked CUSTOM and seen if there are any drivers for your sound card listed under HARDWARE?

can you download and run Everest Home Edition and tell us exactly what motherboard it is....then i'll find you a chipset driver and your proper audio driver
