Missing cd drive

HI!
The topic says it all!
Installed a second hard drive and the cd drive went missing?
Thought i assigned cd drives letter to new hard drive so changed that still nothing its just gone!
Anythoughts???

Hi,

The first thing to do would be enter bios and see it the cdrom is listed there, if not the ide cable or power may not be connected so try reseating both.

If it is listed in bios then boot to windows and try cdgone

Checked bios and its not there! where has it gone?
reseated both cable and power still no show!

Does the cd light up when you boot, if not no power, try another connection from the psu.
If it does light indicating power try another ide cable they can go bad when they are disturbed
