PC Freezing

Hi,
I have a new Hard Drive with XP Pro. I have the usual Programmes and use BroadBand. When I start up the PC can run ok with Internet, Bitcomet Download and other Programms then for no reason it just freezes.
Nothing works and I have to turn the PC off and re start.Sometimes I can run for Hours and other times a few minutes. I do have the Winfixer pop up but would this cause the Freeze. I have had a few messages that the error is a device but this is only a general error warning and all devices seem to be working. I have been trying to get Movies on to DVD but no chance the system crashes after a short time.
Any suggestions would be helpful or any software that may repair the fault[size=1][font=Arial]
