I have started to get an error message that says Microsoft Word has encouted an error and must close. I get this message everytime I click on the tool button on the menu bar. I can click on any other button (File, Edit, view, etc) with out any problem but as soon as i go to the "tool" button i get the error message.

Any help would be great.

Thanks

I would try to repair the installation:

Start -> Control Panel -> Add & Remove Programs -> Scroll down to Microsoft Office (2000,XP,2003) and click Change

(If you bought just Microsoft Word, then it should be under Microsoft Word)

You should get the Office installation window. Select the option to Repair, and restart the system. If that doesnt work then, uninstall Office , delete the Microsoft Office folder under C:\Program Files (if you used the default install location). Restart the computer, and install Office. Hope that this helps and please post back either way.

You should also download the latest Service Pack for your version of Office at Microsoft Office Homepage. Hope that this helps.
