I followed the steps I was supposed to. I was un succesful at downloading the security upddates for windows. It downloaded them but my comp locked up when it was trying to install them. I'm hopeing I can try it again after I get my comp running right. There is some sort of program running on my hard drive. I'm not sure what it is or how to stop it. whatever it is, it causes scandisk to constanly restart. Same with defrag. when I run Ad Aware There are two critical items that always come up. They are both called Virtumonte and it says they are located in msevents.msevents. I can remove them and restart my computer and scan again and they will be there. I've tried running scan disk in safe mode it didn't work. I've also tried closing all programs in the task manager execpt systray and explorer. My security setting in IE keep changing too. please help me if you can...thank you
