Computer running slow, no task manager

hi, i recently downloaded a game demo and it didnt work but since then my computere has been running at about 5% its normal speed. I tried using my task manager but it didnt start, I also tried starting it with the "run" command but it only showed an error message that says its being used by a different program.
i have run virus scans but they cant find it
PS i have windows 2000

Click ctrl + alt + delete keys to get task manager

If you do not intend to run the game, use system restore to revert to the most recent system checkpoint before the download
