You can use the hard drive set up utility to write zeros to the drive, the full version will atke 8 hours but will return the drive to an as new a condition as possible. This will help to make the installation of XP as good as possible, hopefully, it will cure the blue screen error

If you know the manufacturer of the hard drive then look at their site for the hard drive set up utility, it needsto have a write zeros to drive option, if it does not have this, you can use something else

If you do not know the manufacturer of the hard drive

Download and install Everest Home Edition

Run the programme, click + next to computer then summary

Look on right for storage

Look at the manufacturer’s site for the suitable utilty for your Operating System

If you are unable to find it, please post the make and model here before you download anything

Please set a system restore point before you install anything
