Hi

Ive had this little prob for a while. I wonder if anyone can tell me why I can't delete Zone Alarm from my registry(HKCurrent User >software), I keep getting the message Error deleting Key. unable to delete. As far as I can see Ive removed all files, also I cant delete HKLM\System\ControlSet002\enum\Root\LEGACY_VSDATANT (or controlSet001).

Under HKLM>software I can delete Zone Alarm, but it keeps returning.

Anyone any clues.

Many thanks

Grandpa

It's probaably in your system restore, try turning off system restore, if that works, and it's safe to do it, delete your restore points, remove ZA, reboot, then turn system restore back on. You may still need to remove it from the registry after all that, but it should be possible and not return.

i usually never keep system restore on b/c there is a possibility that you can restore a virus from what you have saved or backed up. but get spybot search and destroy and use their regristry inconsister check to fix a few things or several also go to the process list and look there then go to the tools and system startup and remove it there (uncheck). this is also a good idea for that annoying msn messager i have always had a problem with but spybot helps with that as well. :tazz:.
