Okay, basically my friend's computer is supposed to be a great, fast computer, however, it's so loaded down with crap that it's a constant lag, and it takes forever to do anything! She needs help, and you guys/or gals/ really helped me with mine, so if you have any ideas on how to clean this freggin thing up!

Get the trial of Tune Up 2006 here

Tune Up 2006 Trial

Run disc clean up then registry clean up then click optimize to run reg defrag, which needs a reboot

After the reboot, click optimize then system optimizer to optimize the computer, select computer with an internet connection from the drop down menu, this also requires a reboot

After the reboot, click optimize then system optimizer to accelerate downloads, select the speed just above your actual connection speed, this requires a reboot

After the reboot, click optimize then system optimizer to run system advisor

Hi trokua!

Please download HiJackThis (from the link in my signature) Install it, and double-click on the HiJackThis.exe icon. On the first screen click on Open the Misc Tools Section...on the next screen, click on the the Generate StartupList log button and post a copy of the log here. You need not check either of the boxes next to this button.

Please remove the HJT Startup Log from your previous post by clicking EDIT, then QUICK EDIT and then highlight the log text and hit DEL.

Now please reopen HJT and click Do a System Scan & Save a Log File. Then attach the txt file it creates as an ATTACHMENT in your next reply.

Re-run a HJT scan and put a check in the checkboxes that correspond to the following items:
  • O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ViewMgr] C:\Program Files\Viewpoint\Viewpoint Manager\ViewMgr.exe
  • O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [StorageGuard] "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Sonic\Update Manager\sgtray.exe" /r
  • O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Share-to-Web Namespace Daemon] C:\Program Files\Hewlett-Packard\HP Share-to-Web\hpgs2wnd.exe
  • O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [KernelFaultCheck] %systemroot%\system32\dumprep 0 -k
  • O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [HotKeysCmds] C:\WINDOWS\System32\hkcmd.exe
  • O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [CamMonitor] C:\Program Files\Hewlett-Packard\Digital Imaging\\Unload\hpqcmon.exe
  • O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [TkBellExe] "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Real\Update_OB\realsched.exe" -osboot
  • O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [sign bore pop mpeg] C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\lesspingsignbore\Rdr Creative.exe
  • O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [QuickTime Task] "C:\Program Files\QuickTime\qttask.exe" -atboottime
  • O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [HPDJ Taskbar Utility] C:\WINDOWS\system32\spool\drivers\w32x86\3\hpztsb05.exe
  • O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [WayBlah] C:\DOCUME~1\Owner\APPLIC~1\ITCHPU~1\soft name defy.exe
  • O4 - Global Startup: Kodak EasyShare software.lnk = C:\Program Files\Kodak\Kodak EasyShare software\bin\EasyShare.exe
  • O4 - Global Startup: Kodak software updater.lnk = C:\Program Files\Kodak\KODAK Software Updater\7288971\Program\Kodak Software Updater.exe
  • O4 - Global Startup: Updates from HP.lnk = C:\Program Files\Updates from HP\137903\Program\BackWeb-137903.exe
The following items are OPTIONAL to put a check in their boxes:
  • O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [AIM] C:\Program Files\AIM\aim.exe -cnetwait.odl - You don't really need AIM starting when your computer does, but if you use it all the time while your computer is turned on, then leave it, else check it..
Once you have all the items above checked, click the FIX CHECKED button and hit YES/OK to any windows that pop up while HJT is removing the entries. Then reboot your computer.

Post back how things are going.

Doesn't look like there is anything more that can be removed. How is your computer running now?
