Like other posters I recently developed a prob with IE6.

When I click it I get a popup that says:

The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000005). Click OK to terminate the application.

My OS is Win2000 server. Oddly, I have a dual boot with Win2000 Pro and the IE in Pro works fine, but I have so much software loaded on server that it would take forever to reinstall it on Pro, plus some of my apps need server, so, if possible, I'd like to fix server.

Netscape and Firefox run, but I have some web based apps that need IE.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled IE.

I've followed all the steps here (cleaner, spybot, shredder, ewido, hijackthis) and come up with zilch.

My hijack this log is below:

Followup:

I got a PM from a member here (thanks!):

I had this same problem and was able to fix it with much searching using
debugging tools. I fixed it by deleting the following registry key:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\RPCKDM]

Be sure to make a backup of any key before you delete it just in case!!! "

I backed up the reg, deleted the key, and voila! It worked again.

However, my Outlook Web Access (OWA) won't send new msgs (it will from Netscape) and my cmd from start\run\CMD fails. My major prob is solved, but if anyone has info about my two minor probs, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks!
