I don't know why this happened but suddenly some of my keys on my keyboard changed

I have a keyboard from England, so there's the pound sign etc.

But, now that it has changed, if I want to do the symbol '@', i have to press shift 2.
Before for @ is was shift '.

I also am unable to do the pound sterling sign. Normally it is shift 3, but when i press shift 3 it does #.

So I went to the # key and tried it and ended up with |.

Then I tried the | key and ended up with | again! So now i have two keys which give \ (and | when shift is pressed).

I think the other keys are fine but im not too sure.

Please can you guys help me...I would really appreciate it because this problem is starting to get really annoying.

Btw, i've tried to do that thing in the control panel which changes the language of the keyboard or something and it has not worked...

Please can you help?

Click start, control panel, language and regional, regional, set everything to your location, on each tab and sub tab, click apply on each tab before moving to another tab / sub tab

When you have changed and applied the settings, reboot the PC
