Hi,
I am trying to download firefox because I am unable to access hotmail, US yahoo, and have just had a problem logging in to another site. I went throuh the Mozilla download process and ended up with the message below - everytime I try to connect. I wanted to check my firewall but I have no idea how to check what firewall my computer is using and whether it's denying access to firefox. Can anyone guide me in checking it out? I'm hopelessly non-Geek - is firefox a good idea for me? Thanks.

Unable to connect

Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at www.mozilla.org.

* The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few
moments.

* If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network
connection.

* If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure
that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.

if you have windows xp service pack2, check your file wall by going to -->control panel-->windows firewall-->exceptions and add firefox as one of the accepted programs.

Also, if you're having problems with accessing basic websites such as email on internet explorer, I would recommend a spyware/virus scan.

Hmm, I am really bad at these things. When I go to control panel I can't find firewall. Is there another step somewhere? Also, is there a web address I have to show for firefox when I add it?

firefox works like any other browser. It sounds like you don't have service pack 2. I would recommend for you to download that first.

Open up Internet Explorer. Go to tools --> Windows update.
