USB Device not recognized - webcamera works with desktop but not laptop

for some reason when I install the drivers for the webcam on my laptop it does not recognize it. I know my USB ports work because when I plug in my memory disk it reads it just fine. Do I need to update drivers for my USB ports? :tazz:

Have you tried restarting your computer with the webcam attached to see if Windows will install it automatically?
