i can't get my comp to display onmy TV hen i hook it up, i have the little round connector on my video card, plus the video cable, and i got my TV on the right channel, and my video card does not reconize the TV! please help!


p.s. notice ho wmost of my questions are aobut video cards and such?

You need an S-video cable to connect the card to an S-video input on your TV. Then you need to change the video input on your TV to S-video. After it's connected you'll need to reboot your PC to recognize the TV.

it isn't an s-video, the calbe i have just hooks up, and it is a cable that just goes to a streight video cable, a RBG vid cable, but i never thaught to restart my comp, but i have the ATI control pannel, and it said i don't need to restart for it, but i guess i sdhould give it a shot, and other ideas? but the connector o\i am using for the vid card is an old one form a VooDoo 3 3000 16 mb AGP, so it might be the adapter i am using...but asny other segestions?


also, it is not a S-video thing, it is like the connector on a mouse or keybopard, or a coaxil for an old Sega Genisis

That adaptor should work. It's an S-video to RCA adaptor. That round connection that looks similar to a keyboard or mouse connection is S-video. If you have S-video input on your TV you can run an S-video patch cable between them. I do this with a DLP video projector. I also have an ATI (9700Pro), and I have to reboot in order for the system to recognize my TV output after the cable's connected.

oh, ok, but is there somehing used to convert s-video to just a regualr video RGB wire? becasue my TV uis old, and it doesn't have s-video
