Ok, I have a Dell Inspiron 9300 laptop which has a set of media controls in the front that normally control the volume and basic controls for music programs. For some reason unknown to me, they have stopped working correctly. I can still mute the sound at any time, but I have to be using the media program for the play or stop controls to actually work. Also, whenever I'm playing a game or something, these buttons seem to act as normal keyboard buttons...aka..my volume down acts as a 'c' key. It's very peculiar and annoying. Any ideas as to how this could have happened, and how to go about correcting it?

I don't think you understand the problem. The media controls used to work when i was playing a full screen game or something, but they only work now when i'm actively using the program.

I thought it was a hotkey thing

Check at Dell download, they have drivers for everything, and re-installing the drivers from there should sort this

This is for Dell support 3 which scans and downloads anything the PC needs

Or you can look through downloads here
